the dishes are clean for now, but not for long. you will fall into a deep sleep and when you rise they will be back. the sink only spews scalding hot water, the tap shaking and sputtering splashing your face. your knuckles split and crack open from the heat. the flies are born in the basement and come to the kitchen for warmth. you will find no escape from them here. they worm their way into every crack and crevice. onto the food, in your fresh wounds, on the newly cleaned dishes.
the dishes need to be done again.
